"Art in the Alley Pt II"
Giving Grace in the community

Who
The installation of the mural at Life House was such a resounding success with the community that DSAI, Life House and MANA began part two of this installation. This time, MANA was the lead muralist and had a big plan to carry out. The black wall that had previously been blocked off to erase inappropriate grafitti would be used to teach the youth from Life House how to paint murals. Simultaneously, the color blocked sections of
"We're Building a Bridge"would be isolated and made into portraits of community leaders, one section at a time.

Where
The first day of installation was a flurry of spray cans, PPE, instructions and smiles. More than a dozen young adults showed up the the mural workshop not knowing what to expect and leaving with a new found respect for street art that will be carried with them throughout their lives. Many students flew through the lessons with ease, and some even took to making their own designs and exploring their new knowledge with the leftover cans.
It was an unanimous YES from the attendees when asked if this workshop was valuable, educational and engaging. We are hoping to provide more experiences like this!
